Beyond personal preference, there are a few factors to consider before picking what type of underwear to slip on. You’ll want to think about how snug you want them to be, what length is most comfortable and what you'll be doing that day. Picking the right underwear can go a long way - from making you feel more comfortable to helping you fall asleep at night.
One of the biggest questions we get from guys is: "what's the difference between boxer briefs vs briefs?"
It might seem like a really simple distinction, but the ones you decide to go with can definitely impact how comfy you are. I know - it's just underwear! But trust me, go with a good pair of underwear and you'll realize just how important it can be 😉
Not to worry! In this article, we'll go through what exactly the difference is between boxer briefs and boxers so you can make a decision about which style is best for you.
Boxer Briefs vs Boxers Round 1: Functionality
AKA how well they keep everything in place.
Boxer briefs are snug and extend down your legs to your thighs (often 31cm from waistband to leg). Boxers have the same length but are a much looser fit (think plenty of room in the legs).
In our opinion, boxer briefs are easily the most functional men's underwear out there. If you get the right pair made with breathable, moisture wicking materials and leg stays (to avoid rolling up), these will probably end up being your go-to. Interestingly enough, even astronauts prefer boxer briefs when they're in the International Space Station (talk about an endorsement).
Your underwear also has 2 jobs: (1) keep everything in place and (2) shield your banana bonanza from the public.
Boxer briefs cover the inner thighs and are pretty much immune to the issues that apply to briefs and boxers. Justin Timberlake is said to have tried all three before settling with boxer briefs. He likes “the way they hold everything together,” which is important when he's on stage (imagine the nightmare if everything wasn't...ahem... held together).
On the flip side, boxers don't really pack everything in. Imagine throwing a pair on underneath some loose shorts at the gym - you may end up giving everyone a front-row seat to Moby Dick 😬

Boxer Briefs vs Boxers Round 2: Comfort
AKA How much they support your manhood.
This one's pretty important to us - nobody likes sh*tty underwear (pun intended). You want underwear that's so comfy, you don't even feel like you're wearing them. There's few things worse than constantly having to readjust through your jean / work pants pockets (especially when you're in public).
Boxer briefs are the clear winner here simply because of how uncomfortable boxers can be. Sure, if you're just sitting around the house lounging in your underwear, boxers can be comfy. They give your boys the chance to breathe. But once you have to wear anything on top, they become a nightmare.
Constantly riding up and bunching - nobody has time for that. Plus, they completely lack support.
On the other hand, a good pair of boxer briefs cradles your cherries and gives them the support they need without being too tight.

Boxer Briefs vs Boxers Round 3: Appearance
AKA how awesome they look (when they're off)
Boxer briefs give you the best of both worlds for appearance. They're like well-fitting shorts that give your legs that extra lady-killer vibe (especially if you happen to be in great shape). We have Mark Wahlberg and the popular ‘90s ads he was featured in to thank. He rocked them savagely and people have been loving boxer briefs ever since.
Boxers don't really look that great - they're loose fitting, meaning they don't make your legs look good, and they generally make your lower body look bigger. Personally, I don't like the "puffy" look they give legs.

Boxer Briefs vs Boxers
Let's tally up the score.
Boxer Briefs: 3
Winner = boxer briefs
Boxer briefs win in functionality, comfort and appearance hands down. They keep everything well-packaged, give you the support you need and make your boys and legs look awesome. Think of all the celebs that have mentioned they love boxer briefs: Ben Affleck, Jared Padalecki, John Legend, Adam Levine and John Mayer. Boxer briefs suit them well - who's to say they won't suit you too!
We may know an awesome pair of boxer briefs that'll make you switch over from the dark side if you're a boxers lover (or make you stay in the light if you already love boxer briefs) 😉
